Gender Equality, Respect and Responsible Masculinity

Date: 17 August 2026

The Institute of Management organized an awareness session on “Gender Equality, Respect and Responsible Masculinity” for the First-Year MBA students on 17 August 2026 at Auditorium I & II from 9:00 AM to 10:20 AM. The session was conducted with the objective of sensitizing students to the importance of equality, dignity, mutual respect and responsible behaviour in both personal and professional spaces. Dr. Joseph Charles Tamilmaran D, Associate Professor & Head, Institute of Management, addressed the boys, while Dr. Gita P C, Associate Professor & Coordinator, Institute of Management, addressed the girls. The session highlighted behavioural etiquettes, respectful communication, personal boundaries and the responsibilities of individuals in creating safe and inclusive environments. Particular attention was given to gender equality in personal relationships as well as in corporate and organizational settings. The resource persons also discussed relevant laws, appropriate actions and the importance of responding responsibly to gender-related concerns. The practical and thought-provoking approach made the session an eye-opening experience for students and encouraged them to reflect on their own attitudes, conduct and responsibilities as future managers.
